Dinner and movie dates are great, but we always love being creative with events and parties. San Diego has some great creative date nights for you to plan this summer.

“I’m On A Boat”

We do not suggest singing this The Lonely Island classic on your date, but it did give us a great idea for a date your loved one would not expect.  Speed Boat Adventures’ features 90-minute group tours that let you get on the water and see some great sights in San Diego. You can see the US Navy submarine base, the USS Midway and the Coronado Bridge among others as you fly along the water.  Make sure to make reservations early as these tours can fill up fast with tourists.

Relive Your Fifth Grade Field Trip

You can relive your elementary school years without all of the awkwardness. Take your date roller skating at Skateworld. Tie up your skates and play all the games from your elementary school years. You can also skate around to the current hits or request nostalgic 90s songs for you and your date to sing along too.

Do you have a sweet tooth for chocolate? Take your date to Dallmann Fine Chocolates for a chocolate-making class at the production kitchen in El Cajon. You will learn all the skills that are necessary to make those fancy little chocolates you get at bakeries and chocolatiers. You even leave with a gift for your date. Every student leaves with their own box of chocolates.

A New Take on Dinner and a Movie

Yes, we said to stay away from dinner and a movie, but this is an event that we will make the exception. The Pearl Hotel’s Dive-In Theater is on Wednesday evenings. You can grab a bite at their restaurant then sit with your date in a pool chair with a dinner cocktail. You can even enjoy the movie from the comforts of The Pearl Hotel’s Pool.

These are just four of the great date night ideas that you can plan close to Ariva Apartments. We hope that whether this is a first date or a 300th date that you can have fun with these unique date ideas.
