September is Better Breakfast Month

Image From Wikipedia
September is quickly approaching, which means it is time for back to school ads and fall food. However, September is also #BetterBreakfastMonth. Instead of starting your day with a pop tart, try starting your day with a balanced breakfast at a restaurant in San Diego. This will help you start your day on the right foot with a delicious meal and a little more energy. You can easily get to all of these locations after leaving Ariva in the morning for your commute.

Isabel’s Cantina is the perfect restaurant to start your morning with a healthy breakfast. We recommend the Margherita Scramble. This dish consists of egg whites scrambled with basil and jack cheese. Served with brown rice and topped with marinated chicken, parmesan, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, scallions, avocado sauce and a pesto drizzle. You can grab this dish and many more on Felspar Street starting at 8am.

If you want a little kick to your morning breakfast, make sure to visit Urban Solace on 30th Street. You can wake up with their Paso Prime grass fed beef cheek hash with poached eggs and a smoked ancho chili hollandaise sauce. This North Park neighborhood restaurant is unique and quiet to give you the perfect start to your day. This is the perfect restaurant for someone who works an evening shift as their doors open at 11am.

Whisknladle is a little further away from Ariva in La Jolla California, but their breakfast is worth the drive. If you work on the weekends or are just looking for a great brunch, Whisknladle is the place to go. If carbs are your friend for brunch, make sure to try their Cinnamon Pancakes. Brunch starts at 10am on Saturday and Sunday.  You can find Whisknladle on Wall Street in La Jolla.

These are just three of the many breakfast places that you can try in San Diego. Start your day right and help celebrate #BetterBreakfastMonth all through September. What is one thing you would like to add to your healthy breakfast? Comment on our Facebook page with your suggestion!

Things To Do Before Summer Ends

Image From Billy Hathorn and Wikimedia
Summer is almost over in San Diego, but that does not mean you should stop having fun. There are so many great summer events and attractions that you can visit before summer ends. Even if school has already started, use your weekends to visit these great San Diego traditions. They are very close to your home at Ariva Apartments, and they will provide you and your friends wth hours of fun.

Before summer is over make sure to check out one or five more games at Petco Park. The San Diego Padres have some great games coming up to finish out their season. Cheer on our hometown team as they head for the post season in October.

You do not need a wetsuit to enjoy the gorgeous blue waters. La Jolla Cave can get up to 70 degrees in the summer. This is the perfect snorkeling weather to see some of your favorite wildlife. Grab a group and make sure to make reservations with one of the many groups that help run and organize the La Jolla Cave.

Grab a blanket and make sure to see an outdoor movie before the summer ends. There are so many outdoor movie locations that you will have trouble choosing. Pacific Beach Middle School has room for cars and outdoor sitting, and it is only 15 minutes from your home at Ariva Apartments. You can make suggestions about what movies you want to see by visiting their Facebook Page.

Old Globe in Balboa Park is home to the Shakespeare Festival all summer long. There is still time to see four more shows left in the season. This includes the famous Shakespeare comedy Comedy of Errors. This show is great for all ages as you will laugh throughout the entire 90 minute performance.

The racetrack closes on September 6th, but there is still time to grab your big brimmed hat and watch a race or two. Tickets are still open for both the race and side track dining for the races throughout the rest of the season. You can purchase your tickets here.

These are just a few of the great events and attractions happening in San Diego during the rest of the summer. We hope you can grab a few hours and check them out before winter comes.

Working Out Has Never Been This Much Fun

Image From Wikipedia
Working out and taking care of our bodies is something that is a priority in most of our day to day activities. A quick run or a few sit ups could be your current routine, but there are so many great gyms and wellness centers around San Diego, that we want to try something new. On your next free night after work, stop by a few of these locations to change up your workout routine. Ariva is in such a great location in San Diego, that all of these businesses are close to home.

Work On Your Body and Mind

The Sonima Wellness Center should not be lumped into one category. This place is perfect for the person that wants to work on their all-around health. You can start your workout with one of their many studio classes. This is not your average pilates class. Hip-hop, boot camps with TRX training or yoga are just a few of the many classes that are offered at Sonima. Then, quench your thirst or hunger at their vegan cafe. Grab yourself an organic juice with a raw vegan snack. The Sonima Wellness Center is located at 575 South Coast Highway.

Closer To Home

Maybe you want a unique workout that is closer to home. Grotto Climbing & Yoga is located just seven minutes from Ariva at there Alvarado Canyon Road location. This new facility opened last year with a 7,000 square-foot climbing wall. You can learn to scale the many walls and ability levels at this state-of-the-art facility. After an intense climb, relax with one of the 11 types of yoga classes they offer throughout the day.

Time To Fly

If yoga can get boring, the Triology Sanctuary will add the twist that you need. This yoga sanctuary takes yoga classes to new heights, and it is only a short drive from your home at Ariva. The classes are held on the oceanview rooftop, where students hang two to three feet in the air and work on both familiar yoga poses and aerial-specific poses. Besides the health benefits of decompressing your spine and deep stretching, it also makes you feel like a kid again flying through the air.

We are so excited to mix up our workout routine with these centers and gyms. Whether you are flying through the air or climbing to new heights, we think these new classes will be a great addition to your exercise program.
