San Diego Essentials

It does not matter if you have lived in San Diego for years or if this is your first month, there are certain places every San Diego resident should visit.  These essentials are important for tourists and residents alike in learning about this gorgeous city. These places include historic sites, attractions and new updated businesses. Many of these locations are close to your home at Ariva Apartments. Keep reading to see what essentials you need to visit soon.

New Attractions

A brand new nine story public library opened in downtown San Diego in 2013. This gorgeous structure is made up of glass and steel between the indoor and outdoor spaces. This library includes a three story reading room that gives you a perfect view of the Coronado bridge. This library along with Petco Park has given downtown San Diego a new life. Shops, cafes and attractions have opened throughout the downtown neighborhood.

Another attraction in San Diego is the open-air fish market at Seaport Village every Saturday.  You can purchase all of your favorite fish including their catch of the day for your weekly meals.  Make sure to visit even if you are not purchasing, it is interesting to watch the industry that once made San Diego famous.

Classic Attractions

Coronado is the perfect place to visit and take a step back in time. This bike-friendly area feels like you have traveled back to the 1950s.  The Hotel Del Coronado is famous for being a location in Marilyn Monroe's movie "Some Like It Hot".  Travel back in time and visit this gorgeous beach town with a great story to tell.

Balboa Park is perhaps one of the most famous parks in San Diego. This park is 1,200 acres and it is sometimes compared to Central park in New York City.  It is even home to another "San Diego Essential".  The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary.  Make sure to visit these classic attractions this summer in San Diego.
